LifeForce Yoga

LifeForce Yoga is designed for those looking for relief from stress, anxiety and depression. This is a gentle practice that meets and balances the mood to achieve a greater sense of peace and vitality.  Classes include yoga poses Asana), breath-work (Pranayama), visualization (Bhavana), hand gestures (Mudra), sound (Mantra), and guided meditation (Yoga Nidra).  This class is appropriate for all levels.

Slow Flow Yoga

Flow is for students who have a basic understanding of the foundation of yoga poses and who feel comfortable going at their own pace. Poses will be modified to meet the individual needs of the students. This is a beginner to intermediate class that should challenge your strength and flexibility while promoting relaxation. A flow class incorporates moving form one posture to the next with the use of the breath, creating a sequence or flow that is rhythmic.. You should leave class feeling challenged, inspired, and relaxed.  

Restorative Yoga

In Restorative yoga,  all the postures are done on the floor with the use of props to aid in comfortably supporting the body.  Draping the body over the props soothes the physical body as well as the nervous system allowing the body to move out of "fight or flight" and into "rest and digest" where toxins can be eliminated, and relaxation can occur.   Great for reducing cortisol, lowering blood pressure/heart rate, and boosting the immune system.  This class is appropriate for all levels. 

Yin Yoga

Yin yoga works the connective tissues of the body including the tendons, ligaments, and joints in order to increase strength and mobility.  The poses are held for long periods of time (often 3 -5 min or longer) to allow for lengthening of the muscles, creating muscle memory.  The pace is slow and meditative, increasing the flexibility of the body and the mind while focusing on the breath (pranayama).  Props can be used to make the long holds more comfortable and accessible.  This class is appropriate for all levels.

Beginner

An introductory level Hatha class that is gentle and alignment-based.  Includes breath work (pranayama) as well as basic theory and philosophy.  This class is ideal for those new to yoga.

Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra is an ancient form of meditation that is done in a reclined position (can be seated if necessary) in order to allow the body and mind to completely relax.  Props are used to ensure comfort.  The entire meditation is guided, allowing the mind to slow down to delta brain waves (the same level as in deep sleep).  This is a very healing and regenerative practice as it is in this state that the immune system is at its most powerful.  Other benefits include relaxation, reduced blood pressure, pain reduction, increased energy, and a better night's sleep.  This class is appropriate for all levels, including those recovering from injury.

Hot Beginner

Hot beginner is a preparation for Hot Flow (Vinyasa) that moves the body through the postures with the breath at a moderate pace.  The temperature is up to 95 degrees.  This class is appropriate for most.

Hot Flow (Vinyasa)

Hot Flow, or Vinyasa, is a faster moving class with more difficult poses done in unison with the breath.  The temperature is up to 105 degrees.  Great for re-energizing the soul and detoxifying the body.  This class is intended for students with an existing yoga practice.

Warm Flow (Vinyasa)

Warm Flow, or Vinyasa, is a faster moving class with more difficult poses done in unison with the breath.  The temperature is up to 95 degrees.  Great for re-energizing the soul and detoxifying the body.  This class is intended for students with an existing yoga practice, but beginners who are willing to modify are welcome.

Vinyasa Flow

Vinyasa Flow, is a faster moving class with more difficult poses done in unison with the breath.  A lovely class to awaken and stretch the body and the mind.  This class is intended for students with an existing yoga practice. Classes include variations of arm balances and inversions.

Hatha Yoga

Class begins with centering meditation and breath work (Pranayama) moving into various warm up stretches, followed by standing poses.  Standing poses include some long holds focusing on alignment and breath, sun salutations, and balances, and balances.  Class ends with deep floor stretching and final relaxation.  Optional guided meditation follows (studio permitting) lasting an additional 15 minutes.
